Welcome to Posh Paws

My name is Alison and I am the owner of Posh Paws. Its always been a passion of mine to work with dogs and I started at the age of 14 working in a boarding kennels. This led me down a career of various other kennels where I spent time working with Guide dogs for The Blind and Thames Valley Police. During my time with Police dogs I developed an interest in grooming and when I was made redundant I decided to re train as a groomer. I completed my level 1 and 2 at Merrist Wood College in Guildford alongside working at a grooming salon and in 2021 I qualified in City and Guilds Level 3 with a merit at Dogs Delight in Chiswick.

I attend many seminars to keep up to date with the latest techniques and have recently started competing to improve my grooming by gaining valuable feedback from top professionals.

I have had dogs all my life and my first love was my Shih tzu, Scampi, who taught me lots on what being a dog lover was truly about. Since then, we have rescued a 3 legged Cairn from Battersea and are currently owned by Bertie, a Spaniel and Merlin, a Poodle. I have puppy walked A GSD from the Thames Valley Police puppy Scheme so its safe to say, I have lots of experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

I believe in working at the dogs own pace so my grooms are never rushed and that way there is less stress for the dog and for me.

I am fully insured and First aid trained and tailor each groom to the individual dog.
